EDI Inbox Processing

Note: For an overview of EDI Processing in the system, please refer to EDI Overview.

All incoming EDI transactions (purchase orders, invoices, and acknowledgements) must be processed in your system before they can become transactions in Net•Yield. During this process, the transactions are checked to determine whether they are properly formatted and contain sufficient business entity information to complete the transaction. The trading partner specific transactions are converted into the Net•Yield formats needed to process the transactions.

The incoming EDI transactions are located in the Shared\NetYield\Data\Company Name\EDI Inbox when they are received from your EDI Trading Partner.

Once the EDI transactions have been processed into the system any received purchase order transactions can be processed into sales orders using the TRADING PARTNER TX option in the Sales Order selection window. EDI vendor invoices can be matched to the purchase order in Complete Purchase Orders and acknowledgments assigned to the purchase orders and sales invoices.

Note: The system does not conduct the actual transmittal of EDI or XML electronic transactions. It simply creates the transactions and deposits them in the Shared\NetYield\Data\Company Name\EDI Outbox or a specific trading partner outbox folder in order to become available to other systems for distribution. Likewise, the system looks for electronic transactions in the Data\Company Name\EDI Inbox folder for processing into the system.

Additional Information about EDI is found in the EDI Overview.
